Flying New Zealand

As a Young Eagle you will experience the breadth of the aviation industry for yourself. You will do many things, from flying in an aircraft and experiencing how it works, to visiting and learning about Air Traffic Control, to talking to airline pilots and more.

Microlight License

A micro-light license allows you to fly as pilot in command of a single or two seat aircraft up to a maximum weight of 600kg. Micro-light aircraft are not approved to fly over built up areas or to fly at night.

Our on-site facilities for members include new modern two storey clubrooms with a lounge bar and viewing deck to give superb views of the runway and all the activities out on the Aerodrome
